I have to say, the crowdfunding campaign was a very difficult and challenging task. That said, it was a moderate success. Had to tweak my strategy a few times during the whole process but it did work out. Now, I have a decent amount of startup money to utilize for the various business tasks. And it was the last push for all of the final expenses I needed to cover. It's kind of a cool place to be right now, as an artist. Working on the last interior formatting type of stuff, like fonts and spacing and page numbers. Got the copyright page all set, which required so many things: a logo, an imprint name, ISBNs, even registering with the Library of Congress.

All my efforts are going into this book launch, which is only a few weeks away. I am hoping to have the book ready for printing in the next few days already. One thing I been able to do is print and deliver the promotional items, from a business stamp to stickers and coasters and bookmarks. I even got myself a tumbler, all with WASHINGTON printed on there and my pen name and logo. Pretty sweet. After the launch and fulfilling the orders from the campaign, it will be promotion and publicity, which is a little daunting. I barely am used to the idea of being out in the open as a published author, let alone making appearances and doing interviews.

Recently, I sort of shifted my mindset. Yeah, of course, I want (and need) this to be successful, but I also almost feel a sort of obligation too. The local outlets like newspaper, magazines, radio, TV, the online resources like blogs, podcasts, influencers, organizations, even events and festivals and conventions--it's all for the cause really, all for the greater good. At least this first book, which is actually quite special compared to my other upcoming works. If this could reach and help a hundred people, the sleepless nights and stressful times would be worth it.
