I am happy to announce that though many of the marketing campaigns have fallen flat, I seem to have found a modicum of success. I have tripled my total sales, have more trickling of sales overall, and even sold over 110+ copies in a single day. It is not easy to pinpoint exactly what went right but I can say, I am planning to continue to experiment, branch out and then recreate the results. Honestly, it's so cool to see your book featured up there with any other established writer: Ruth Ware, John Grisham, Karen M. McManus as well as Karin Slaughter, so many others. Like, maybe it was just the tiniest crumb of the pie crust--but at least I'm on the damn table.
At the same time, I am also happy to announce that I finally finished the first draft of my second novel. I estimated it would take five months but it took eleven long months. I began on Christmas Eve last year and wrapped on Black Friday this year. It was very difficult in that there are a lot of characters, there is a lot of detail, and there were many challenges along the way. I plan to keep the team smaller with my usual writing partner and proofreader, and a new beta reader. I was successful in creating something more "commercial" this time as in a clearly defined genre, but that is also vastly unique and bold. I will send the revised manuscript out to literary agents after the holidays then we shall see what fate has in store.
