Behind the Front Lines

The past four months haven't been easy, but I remain determined. Working all these years, finally ready to query, and then all this happened. I still wake up at three in the morning, still do either straight writing or writing related tasks, still go to work where long hours are even longer now. It was rough in the beginning, with a lot of patients showing mysterious fever and breathing issues, getting sent out, passing away... I've never seen anything like that. There's not enough masks or gowns or gloves. I gotta make one mask last three to five days, per orders. It's been better, except for the maskne. I'll say, I was expecting the road to publication to be difficult but this seems a lot harder than I imagined. Not sure if it's the state of the world, timing, or that my work is too unconventional or unorthodox. That said, no way in hell will I ever stray from the path. This is happening. This is what happens next, even if I gotta tear down the walls of the Big Five myself, with my bare teeth. I compiled a more extensive list of agents and agencies, tweaked my strategy, and been experimenting with social media and possibly streaming. I've also been researching sales and marketing techniques. Surprisingly, I feel pretty damn good, despite the challenges.
